Fourth day...

“Pembar Garage”
oil on canvas
8” x 8”

My dream would be to go up and down Hwy 395 and paint in the towns of the Eastern Sierra. This is again from a photo I took in September. Shadows of Jollycone in the foreground

' Eagle has landed '

I choose this image after rejecting more conventional ones. It is cropped in, otherwise
un-edited. Even with a 300 mm lens eagles are elusive. It is what I observed through
the lens albeit at a distance. While mottled and unsharp, it is for me as poignant as a
fine art image, perhaps more so, for often in suggesting an idea we create an even more
evocative image. No better example exists than a painting where through the use of brush
strokes, seemingly random on the canvas,  one can elicit the deepest of feelings and
emotion, and render the observer as if they were a part of the scene.
